Swaziland
LotNo. Symbol Cat No. Lot Description
721 og/nh 10/124 imageCollection of Mint Swaziland, 1933-1966, all neatly displayed in black mounts on 16 quadrille pages, We noted Scott #s 10-16, 27-37 (never hinged), 27a-37a, 55-66, 67-79b, 80-91, 92-107, and others, including a page of Postage Due sets. One of the 1966 surcharged issues (50c on 5sh) is identified by the owner as the rare Type III but we have counted it as a Type I, as a certificate would be required. A fresh and lightly hinged collection (except the noted NH set), very fine. Accompanied by a detailed map of Africa showing Swaziland’s location. Worldwide
LotNo. Symbol Cat No. Lot Description
722 O/og   imageOld Time Collection of Mint and Used Worldwide, to About 1940, mounted on pages filling a thick spring-back album. Contains mostly European and East European countries (the usual suspects) but there are also other good countries such as Labuan, Japan, Newfoundland, Gold Coast, and many others. There are many hundreds of mint and used stamps in this old collection, with many complete sets, a little duplication, and several more valuable stamps and sets (some cataloguing in the $50 to $150 range). We saw no big countries such as USA, France, Canada, Spain and such, quality is overall fine. Our photos only show a small representation. 723 O/og   imageGroup of Old Time Worldwide Collections, best is a Progressive Stamp Album (with slipcase) holding a worldwide collection with hundreds of stamps, the value being on Commonwealth countries including many pages of Canada, including several Small Queens (to the 50c, with duplication, postmarks, etc.), Jubilees, and so on up to the late 1930s. Next is a "Queen Postage Stamp Album" (ca. 1930s) also containing hundreds of stamps, with strength in the British Empire, including Canada. Two smaller old albums contain dozens of low value stamps and finally there are a few dozen album pages with Commonwealth countries, with strength in India. One page that stood out contains two bisected 1911 Macau stamps (one catalogued at $50, the other not listed). See pictures to get a flair of this group. 724 O/og/nh   imageGroup of Collector's Unsorted Treasures, to the 1960s, all contained in 10 stockbooks of various sizes. This is a very interesting holding, in which one will find all sorts of better material, including many hidden treasures, mostly pre-1950s. A quick glance revealed many $50 or higher stamps and many high denominations, and we only just skimmed the surface. Most of the material is Commonwealth, but we also noted a few other countries. Countries of note include Australia, Mauritius, USA, Canada, China (incl. PRC), French colonies, Portugal, Macau, India, GB, Transvaal, Philippines and many more. A difficult group to describe, mostly because of its jumbled nature, although some of the material is semi-sorted by country. One of the stockbooks contains mainly NH blocks of four of Germany and GB from the 1960s. Last but not least is a box containing all sorts of loose material, including a few dozen glassines of early China issues (in quantity). A wonderful opportunity for the patient collector, or online reseller, as our low estimate should prove a good buy. Our pictures only show a small portion of the lot.
