LotNo. Symbol Cat No. Lot Description
681 og/nh   imageCollection of Mint India Stamps Overprinted "GWALIOR" held in 5 Manila pages, appears to cover the whole range of issues from QV to KGVI, including Officials. Completely unchecked by us except to note that the owner has written-up several overprint varieties, saw many high values, and we counted a total of about 240 stamps (including light duplication of some and not counting the 7 used stamps in the first row). Should yield surprises to the patient collector willing to take the time to sort them out, etc. Condition appears to be very nice throughout, all pages photographed online. We note regular issues, Airmail, Semi-Postal and a few sheets from France from the same period. Appears to be all never hinged and fine to very fine, we saw a few part sheets that have gum glazing from the inter-leaving. 684 O/og/nh   imageOld Time Extensive Collection of French Indo-China, 1889 to 1946, all on about 80 quadrille pages. This collection has an excellent coverage of the material issued in the period, with regular issues, Postage Dues, Airmail, Semi-Postals and Officials. Starts off strong, with Scott #s 2 (a lovely sheet margin block of 15, with c.d.s. from Thuan-An / Annam, which if a genuine block would catalogue $1,500 - we can provide a high quality scan of this item - just ask), 3/21 (partial mint set, $421), 24/40 (mint, missing only the 10c, $567), same partial set but used ($367, not including two "millésime" pairs), mint and used surcharges 59/94 ($487), 41-58 (mint, $328), same set but used ($275), same set but surcharged 65/82 (mint, missing #74, $390 and used, $293), and so on to the end, often with both mint and used issues, plus mint blocks, first day souvenir sheets, noted #s B8-B13 (two mint sets, $242 each), used ($242), J18-J30 (mint, $172), O17-O32 (mint, $147), and much more, including a few covers of the era. The many mint stamps are encapsulated in mounts, and so we have only checked a half-dozen for gum, half of which were NH. A few faults here and there, still an overall fine to very fine, and quite valuable collection. Our scans only show a small portion. 685 O/og   imageOld Time Collection of Indo-China and North Viet Nam, mounted on quadrille pages in a springback album, starting with Indo-China (1942 to 1946 on 26 pages) including regular issues, Airmail, imperforates (noting a set of Airmails cataloguing €100 in Yvert & Tellier Colonies), stamps overprinted Dan-Chu Cong-Hoa and Doc-Lap Tu-Do Hanh-Phuc, for use in North Viet Nam (these overprints catalogue U$802 alone), etc. Also another 26 pages of North Viet Nam to about 1965. We also noted some covers, including 9 from the 1947 Paris-Saigon Exhibition, with lavish cachets and two different exhibition labels on back. All in all a clean collection, with mint and used throughout, including multiples, many complete sets, etc. Fine to very fine, our photos should give an idea.
