1209 PC   imageGroup of 19 Early Real Photo Postcards of Halifax Ships and Related Themes, all look to have been taken in the Halifax to St John's vicinity, noting pictured of an iceberg, two photos with note on back "HMS Essex", some show military parades (Halifax?), various ships, a sailor and his goat with note "one pet and its keeper", two photos of a cat, each with a pencil note "photo of the ships cat asleep just like a sailor (no) love Harry" and "This is our cat its name is Charlie" and more. 1210 PC   imageGroup of 5 Real Photo Postcards Depicting World War I Ships Docked in Halifax, two show HMS Dominion and are dated 1906 (these both mailed to Bermuda), one mailed in 1912 shows an unnamed ship and the inscription "Notman Photo", and two others show the U.S.S. 1211 PC   imageCollection of Postcards Depicting the 1917 Halifax Explosion, and its Effects, with 51 cards (bit of duplication), each showing a topic related to the explosion, including two real photo views of the actual ship the S.S. Imo, many destroyed buildings, etc. About half are contemporary real photos, and the other half are from a series published by Novelty Mfg. & Art Co., Limited Montreal. 5 of the real photos are not on postcard stock, all of these have notes on back written in 1919 explaining the scene. We note one of the real photo cards mailed a few months after the explosion, with a note saying "This is the cannon from the ship which exploded and which was thrown and flown about 2 miles from where the ship exploded" (showing three people sitting in the snow next to a cannon in a creek). The same album contains a further 27 cards, most dating from before the explosion, but having to do with Halifax in some way. Overall fine to very fine, all items photographed online. 1219 CVR   imageGroup of Over 500 Arctic Patrol and Polar Related Covers, from the 1950s to the 1980s, from a wide variety of different countries. Many with special cachets and postmarks (note several Northwest Territories) saw some signed covers and more.
