About 100 of the covers are sleeved and ex Steinhart stock, each priced in the $6 to $10 range. We note a good quantity of post offices that are seldom encountered, see photos for an idea of what the lot contains. Overall fine to better. 1183 CVR   image1933 Eastern Arctic Mail Service Cover to Falkland Islands, 3c KGV Arch coil cover mailed Bache Peninsula N.W.T. (APR.12.1933 broken circle free strike) to South Georgia, Falkland Islands (DEC.30 receiver), with S.S. Nascopie / Eastern Arctic Mail Service SEP..7.1933 transit handstamp. The cover received a RETURN TO SENDER and RETURN handstamps and was mailed back to the sender in Pennsylvania through Buenos Aires Argentina (JAN.1.1934 slogan machine transit) and New York (FEB.9.1934 transit), a very fine cover which travelled for 10 months. 1184 CVR   imageGroup of 22 Eastern Arctic Patrol Covers, 1935-1963, includes seven 1935 covers from 7 different ports of call: Port Burwell, Churchill, Chesterfield Inlet, Craig Harbour, Pond Inlet and Pangnirtung, all to the same address in Hamilton. There are eight 1936 covers from the same ports of call, plus Harrison, these addressed to the same address in Winnipeg. Also a 1937 airmail cover to England from Chesterfield Inlet and four 1939 covers from Craig Harbour, Churchill, Pond Inlet and Port Harrison. Lastly, a 1963 postcard from Pangnirtung with an oval "Eastern Arctic Patrol DEC.23.1963 R.M.S. Canada" handstamp (small faults) and a 1953 amateur radio card with the same postmark, plus a rare "Tuktoyaktuk / M.S. Fort James" handstamp on cover (accompanied by write-up on exhibit page). Also 5 covers from the S.S. Manhattan, Humble's second North West Passage voyage, 1970 and two 1974 m/v Seaspan Mariner ship cover from Vancouver to Tuktoyaktuk. Also three 1965 North West Passage Co. Expedition covers, who were looking for the doomed Franklin expedition. Also a 1985 North West passage Society expedition cover and a 1988 Soviet-Canada Polar Bridge Expedition cover signed by Canadian team members. 1189 PC   image1905 Patriotic Postcard Mailed from Skibbereen, ASSA, with a NOV.17.1905 broken circle on a Maple Creek Sask. Methodist Church U.P.U. patriotic card to Cowley, Alberta (through Maple Creek c.d.s. dated NOV.18). Some minor creases do not detract from this fine and scarce strike. 1190 PC   imageExtensive Collection of Real Photo Patriotic Post Cards Depicting Canadian Ships, with 53 cards, each with a real photo of a ship or steamer and either where the picture was taken or where the ship operated. Each picture is surrounded by the same lavish patriotic-themed illustration, depicting a life preserver, ship's lantern, US and Union Jack flags, etc. Each different card has its serial number, ranging from #3419 to 3832 and we counted 33 different numbers, including a few with suffix B or S. We also noted a few cards with the same serial number but with slight differences, such as clouds omitted, etc. Most are unused and the few that were mailed are dated between 1907 and 1910. One of the cards has a note reading in part "This is a Johnny Bull card...". Printed by Warwick Bro's & Rutter in Toronto. Sleeved, with many priced between $15 and $60. 1191 PC   imageCollection of "HMS Raleigh" Real Photo Postcards, with 10 different photographs, depicting various aspects of this World War I Royal navy ship, that ran aground off Labrador in August 1922 with the loss of a dozen crewmen. Some of the pictures show the wrecked deck, several show the funeral proceedings of the crewmen that died, including graves, etc. All unused, with pencil notations on back referring to the picture. 1192 PC   imageCollection of "HMS Raleigh" Crewmen Funeral Real Photo Postcards, with 5 different photographs, each depicting the St Johns Newfoundland funeral of Lieut. Comm. P.O. Gallaghan and Lieut. E.G. Burrows, two crewmen that died when their ship ran aground off Labrador in August 1922 with the loss of a dozen crewmen. The HMS Raleigh was a World War I Royal navy ship.
