Postmarks - Railway
LotNo. Symbol Cat No. Lot Description
1135 O   imageCollection / Accumulation of Eastern Canada Railway Post Office Postmarks on Stamps, 1890s-1950s, with a few thousand stamps and stamps on piece, generally organized by region, in a bulging 48 page stockbook. We note better representation from Ontario and Québec, with a few pages dedicated to Maritime provinces, and a small selection from Manitoba. This collection / accumulation is a much better than typically seen, as the previous owner spent years trying to find fully dated and identifiable strikes, including many socked on the nose. Many of the postmarks have been identified, noting various train numbers and direction markings. An ideal lot for the railway postmark collector or dealer, as we have not checked for rarities. Our online photos show a sampling, but should be viewed in person to better appreciate the contents (Scan 1) (Scan 2) (Scan 3) (Scan 4) (Scan 5) (Scan 6) (Scan 7) (Scan 8) (Scan 9) (Scan 10) (Scan 11) (Scan 12) (All Scans)
