1986 Queen Elizabeth
II 60th Birthday "Sovereign Essay", a mint never hinged sheet margin single showing "1 SOVEREIGN" (instead of "£1) gold denomination. The stamp is otherwise identical in all aspects to the issued one (included for comparison) except for the word
JERSEY which on the essay is in gold (as opposed to gold-framed white letters). Very fine and extremely rare, as our extensive research has not found another, which was also noted on the owner's £550 receipt from a well known GB dealer. Even the
all-knowing AI had this to say "Jersey stamps don't have a "sovereign" denomination in the same way gold sovereigns do."

1943 ½d and 1d Arms
of Jersey Occupation Issues, each value is in a complete pane of 60, with sheet number at top and printer's imprint at bottom (different date for each denomination). We also note the constant plate variety "dot over GE of POSTAGE" on the ½d
position 50. The ½d appears to be on thin, greyish paper (and has no gum), the 1d is on regular fully gummed paper. Small margin tear on ½d pane, else a very fine duo of panes, probably not too many remain. (Scan 1)
