Northwest Territories
LotNo. Symbol Cat No. Lot Description
761 O/CVR   imageCollection / Accumulation of Yukon and Northwest Territories Town Postmarks, 1950s-1990s, containing roughly 220 covers or post cards, and 330 stamps on piece, on roughly 50 quadrille pages and loose material, with strength from the 1970s onwards. The vast majority of covers are commercial in nature, paying domestic first class letter rates, and just a few of the interesting towns encountered include Gjoa Haven, Paulatuk, Iqaluit, Isachsen, Lake Harbour, Mould Bay, Nanisivik, Arviat, and more, noting broken circles, c.d.s., duplex, POCON, MOTO, and machine postmark types. Duplication generally ranges from 1 up to 5 for some towns, with some towns having various postmark types. An interesting lot for the Northern postal history collector. A few small faults on a few of the covers, overall fine to very fine (Scan 1) (Scan 2) (Scan 3) (All Scans)

762 CVR   imageCollection / Accumulation of Roughly 1,500 Northwest Territory Town Postmarks, 1960s-2000s, filling in a bankers box, with a few hundred different towns ranging from A to Y, consisting of primarily commercial mail paying domestic and a few registered rates, noting a variety of postmarks including c.d.s types, many meters, pictorial cancels, machine cancels, POCON, MOON, Klussendorf, and more. Just a few of the town names include Inuvik, Frobisher Bay, Mould Bay, Fort Liard, Cape Dorset, Cambridge Bay, Aklavik, Lac La Martre, Hall Beach, and much more, with some towns having a variety of postmark types. A nice opportunity for further research on modern postmarks, as many cancels would have short periods of use, etc. A nice opportunity for the North West Territory or Canada postmark collector as the lot would take years of searching to duplicate. Our photos show a sampling and overview only. We note a few small faults along with roughly more than half of the covers being #10 size envelopes. Overall fine to very fine.
