Military Mail continued...
LotNo. Symbol Cat No. Lot Description
701 CVR/PC   imageAccumulation of About 285 World War I Covers and Postcards, a real treasure trove for the military specialist or researcher, as this group appears to contain a little bit of everything, noting mostly Canadian items, but also some from England and France. Includes censored mail (many with tapes and or postmarks), picture postcards collected for either side, many Admiral franked covers, internment camp mail or cards, and much more. We note that many of the items have the previous owner's research notes, often on the addressee, etc. Several have faults, still lots of useful material here, and well worth our low estimate. Online photos show a sampling of what can be found here. (Scan 1) (Scan 2) (Scan 3) (Scan 4) (Scan 5) (Scan 6) (All Scans)

708 O   imageCollection of London Ontario Town Cancels on About 525 Stamps, 1880s to about 1903, we note mostly fully dated strikes on Small Queens, Jubilees (mostly), Leafs, Numerals, and Edwards. Postmark types include c.d.s. and duplex, but mostly squared circles and Orbs. Two stock pages contain an unsorted stock, the rest of the collection is on 40 pages forming a calendar collection dated JUN.19.1897 (first day of issue of Jubilee) to OCT.8.1897. A few indicia errors we quickly saw include an Orb with all indicia inverted on a 3c SQ, a Type I squared circle showing PM MR 28 (8 inverted) 86 (instead of 98), and there may be more if one were to look more carefully. Strikes are overall fully dated and very fine, see representative photos online. (Scan 1) (Scan 2) (Scan 3) (Scan 4) (Scan 5) (All Scans)

710 O   imageExtensive Calendar Collection on Stamp, 1897 to 1913, with many thousands of stamps sorted chronologically in two filled stockbooks (96 pages' worth), with Small Queens, Jubilees (over 300), Leafs, Numerals, Maps, Provisionals, Edwards and Admirals. This collection often has more than one stamp per day, sometimes in stacks of up to 8 of the same day, and the collector has left holes for the missing dates. The collection is most extensive in the June 1897 to 1903 time period, but still has many hundreds of stamps outside that period. A great opportunity for calendar enthusiasts, postmark collectors (broken circles, squared circles, c.d.s., RPO, etc.) as well as those who love the allure of beautifully socked on the nose town postmarks, which this collection excels in. Online photos give a small insight. (Scan 1) (Scan 2) (Scan 3) (Scan 4) (Scan 5) (Scan 6) (Scan 7) (Scan 8) (Scan 9) (Scan 10) (Scan 11) (Scan 12) (All Scans)
