481 og/nh   imageSpecialized Collection of King George V New Zealand Issues Overprinted "Aitutaki" Scott #s 17/27, both denominations with two-line overprints are present, with nice blocks of each denomination and mint two-perf pairs (SG catalogues £150).The one line overprints include the 2½d with a top block of 12 showing the two-perf transition, the 3d has a single and a block of six representing the two perforations and a block with two-perf pairs. The 6d and 1sh both include two-perf pairs. The surface printed issue includes a basic set (and an extra 1½d black with a "dented crown"). The lot concludes with three plate singles a plate "27" block of the 1sh, plus two used forgeries. Overall fine to very fine. (Scan 1) (Scan 2) (All Scans)

482 O/og/nh   imageSpecialized Collection of King George V New Zealand Issues Overprinted "Rarotonga" and "Cook Islands" the surface printed issues include four blocks, three with sheet numbers. The engraved issues have representations of both perforations, plus two-perf pairs or blocks of the 2½d, 3d, 4d, 4½d, 6d, 7½d, 9d and 1sh denominations, with upper plate number singles or blocks of the 4½d, 6d and 1sh. There is a group of high denomination "Admirals" including the 2sh in both colours and inverted watermark on the dark blue (unpriced in SG), plus a 3sh single. Last but not least are mint blocks of the 2sh and 3sh overprinted "Cook Islands". A terrific collection starter or enhancer. (Scan 1) (Scan 2) (All Scans)

483 O/og/nh   imageSpecialized Collection of King George V New Zealand Issues Overprinted "Samoa", including the Victory issue. A mix of mint and used, makes for an excellent study. The surface printed issues are in blocks, with four of the five used each with a readable "Apia" postmark. The engraved issues included two-perf pairs and blocks for each of the four denominations, plus mint plate singles of the 3d and 1sh values. The 2sh Admirals include a used pair of the dark blue, plus a mint single of with inverted watermark (unpriced as mint in SG). The 3sh has regular and inverted watermarks of the darker shade and a nice used single of the lighter shade (SG cat £110). The Victory issue is represented by singles to blocks of six, with the 1d and 6d showing different shades. A fresh and fine-very fine offering. (Scan 1) (Scan 2) (All Scans)

484 nh   image"Samoa" Overprints on Two Larger Plate Blocks of the 2½d and 3d Engraved King George V Issues of New Zealand, the 2½d is a block of eight, showing the plate "17" (fresh, mint never hinged) and the 3d is a block of 20 showing the plate "18", and contains four two-perf pairs from the bottom two rows of the block (never hinged but somewhat toned). Nice showpieces and a lot more reasonable than the New Zealand pieces without overprint.

485 og/nh   imageSpecialized Collection of King George V New Zealand Issues Overprinted "Penrhyn Island", Scott #17/24. The engraved issues start with a block and single of the 2½d and the 3d has a two-perf pair and singles of the different perforation, same for the 6d with an extra top margin block. The 1sh has a two-perf pair a nice block and an upper sheet margin pair with the sheet number (catalogue value of all the two-perf pairs SG £270). The surface printed issues often include multiples that combine the two different overprint spacings. The 3d has a used narrow space single, used (SG 31a - cat £100). The second page has plate blocks or pairs of the 2½d, 6d and 1sh values. Overall fine to very fine. (Scan 1) (Scan 2) (All Scans)

486 nh   image1917 ½d and 2½d King George V Penrhyn Island Overprint Varieties, Scott #s 17 and 21, each in a sheet margin mint block of 4 (½d is an upper right sheet number block) and each with a stamp on the lower line missing the period after "Island".
