King George V Study Group, with two proof blocks in black (one on unwatermarked paper, the other with an upright watermark) and a perforated pair with near issued colour overprinted "Colour Print". There is a mint and a used single of the
different perforations, a two-perf block. The sideways block is on "pictorial" paper, indicated by its sideways watermark and the reversed stamp in the picture has no watermark. The "Official" overprints include a nice study of shades and
perforations including a two-perf block. Fine to very fine.

mint, used is harder to find), plus the a clean mint example of the good 8d "Official" overprint (Scott O51 - US$125) and a used forgery. Fine-very fine overall.

King George V Mint Study Group, there is an obvious shade study that could come out of this lot. Proofs include blocks on unwatermarked paper (one is "esparto" paper and a pair on watermarked paper). A pair of perforated "Colour Print" stamps are
followed by different perforations and shades, with a two-perf pair (NZ$450). The "Official" overprints include shades, different perforations and a couple of two-perf pairs (presumably different shades). Substantial catalogue value here overall fine
to very fine.

Black and Brown Orange George V Surface Printed Study Group, the grey black includes proof blocks on thin card, thick white card and on gummed watermarked paper, as well as a proof pair with doubled impression, one inverted. The different
printings and officials are also present. The brown orange printing includes different singles and blocks representing different perforations and papers, with the bottom margin block being the better "Wiggins Teape" paper. A fine-very fine group.

Orange King George V Surface Printed Study Group, a great selection which includes black proof blocks on thin card, thin white gummed watermarked paper, medium gummed watermarked paper and a pair on thick gummed paper. There is a perforated proof
on gummed watermarked paper (in black), a "specimen" overprint and an unauthorized "Crump" orange imperforate plate proof. There are vastly different shades and papers, a single with printed watermark, with used examples of the later printings. The
officials include shades, papers and a "No stop after Official" variety. A fine to very fine group.

George V, with Constant Plate Varieties, mint very lightly hinged, this is the plate 31 row 10/18 "three flaws on neck and one on moustache" variety, fresh and very fine. The collector listed it as a "Wiggins Teape" paper, but CP lists it only
under the De La Rue paper (which we will presume it is, and catalogue it as such). CP K18a(W)(b)

Admiral Booklet Pane Study Group, starting with two proofs of the booklet pane layout in different widths, showing the "two bars" and final "one bar" that was actually used in production. There is a booklet missing its end tab with no
advertising, a complete booklet with tab ("Parisian" ad reading downward) and a bottom tab pane with the advertising reading upwards. The booklets appear fresh, but there is hinging and minor staining on the back.

Admiral Colour Trial Group, five different shades of rose-red, distinctive for being on Cowan chalky paper, with the surfacing on the wrong side. Not discovered until 1968, these are the original five shades (there are now eight listed) in lovely
mint never hinged blocks of four, fresh and fine. Multiples are very hard to find and much more sought-after. Priced as the least expensive five shades in Campbell Paterson # K15c.

Two Stock Pages with
a Specialized Offering of the ½d Fantail and the 1d Kiwi from the 1935 Issue, covering both watermarks. For the ½d, this mostly mint offering includes regular, inverted watermarks, shades, a Campbell Paterson-listed "position 8/3" flaw, plate
blocks, officials. The 1d has both formats of the Kiwi booklet pane, ink smear, "R7/2 Halo", plate blocks, including of the official and a lovely coil strip with four starter tabs. Overall fine to very fine. (Scan 1)
