582 CVR 26 image5c Large Queen on 1875 Registered Domestic Cover, mailed from Coaticook QC on NOV.4.1875 to Napierville (faint receiver) through Montréal (NOV.25) and Stottville (Nov.24), franked with a 5c olive green Large Queen paying the 3c domestic rate plus 2c registration fee. The 2c registration stamp first made its appearance on NOV.15 (although the earliest known use on cover is DEC.15) and so should have been used to pay the fee, but may not have been available in such a small post office yet. Reduced at left, tape stains on back and sealed tears, still an early use of this stamp to pay this rate.
