McMurray to Aklavik flight cachet on front, 35 covers have a red airplane printed at upper left on front. According to the owner, all of these are different, except for 5 covers where the Semi-Official stamp has the "Sky touches Sun" variety. Overall fine, photo shows a few examples only.

182 CVR CL40 imageCollection of 39 Different Western Canadian Airways Flight Covers, 1927-1930, all franked with CL40 on back (x12) or on front (x27) and there are no covers from the Waterways to Aklavik flights. We note a good variety of corner cards, frankings, postmarks, envelopes, addressees as well as cachets. 183 CVR CL40 imageCollection of 54 Different Western Canadian Airways Flight Covers, all franked with CL40 on back (7 are on front). 36 covers are from the Waterways to Aklavik flights (all different, from May 28 to July 2, 1929) and 18 are from all different non-Waterways to Aklavic flights (1927-1930, noting different envelopes, postmarks, cachets, addressees, etc). The group of 18 are each in a sleeve with its AAMS flight # (WC2707 to 2929). Two of the CL40 stamps have "Skis touching the Sun" variety and we note some that are (Pilot?) signed. 184 CVR   imageGroup of 20 Admiral-Franked Airmail Covers to the United States, 1926-1932, 13 are dual franked (with US Airmail stamps) and the rest are Canadian franked only. One of the covers (JUL.22.1926 Red Lake to New Jersey) is franked with a 2c Admiral, 10c US Airmail and 20c Special Delivery (#E2a) as well as a Patricia Airways Semi Official (#CL13), one cover (mailed Québec City to California on AUG.24.1926) is franked with 4c and 8c Admirals (overpaying the new 10c rate by 2c). We also note other interesting attributes such as a Paquebot marking, 8 first flight cachets, FDC for #s C1 and C3, a cover with an American RPO described as an "RF 500", a cover with two 10c US Airmail stamps, and more. 186 CVR World War II imageCorrespondence of Over 100 Covers from Halifax N.S. to Rear-Admiral H.F. Pullen, with over 100 Air Letters, airmail covers and covers, at first addressed to him in England, then H.M.C.S. Ottawa in St John's Newfoundland, then to a Navy Yard in Charleston South Carolina. Postmarks are mostly Halifax blacked-out machines and slogans but saw a few blacked-out c.d.s. and rare duplex. Rear-Admiral Pullen was a highly decorated and distinguished officer in the Royal Canadian Navy who served from 1925 to 1960. He was a founder of the Maritime Museum of the Atlantic and was President of the Maritime Museum of British Columbia in 1956 and there is a lot of information on him online. See pictures for an idea. 187 CVR World War II imageGroup of Canadian and Worldwide WWII Military Covers and Correspondences, with approximately 600 covers, about two thirds are from a few family correspondences (1902-1950s) and have no military postmarks, but there also a few hundred covers with various military postmarks, including Orderly Room, FPOs, censor markings, etc. Most are from Canada but we note some military covers from Australia and Great Britain as well. Quality varies drastically, with many roughly opened, but still worth a close look, as there may be finds. We show an overview photo.

188 CVR   imageGroup of 1902 Toronto Unofficial Duplex-Related Covers, first cover is an uprated stationery cover with two lovely strikes of the DUN-148 unofficial duplex, on JAN.8.1902. The three other covers were mailed Between FEB.5 and JUN.27 1902 using the dater part of the duplex, transformed into a two ring orb. The JUN.9 cover is addressed to London England, and the FEB.5 cover's stamp was missed by the M-6 machine, which would have been a very late use for this machine. One cover with tears, etc., other three are very fine, a scarce group.

191 CVR   imageGroup of Queen Victoria Items with Oval Parcel Cancels, starts with a large piece (parcel wrapper piece) franked with a 50c Widow Weeds and a 10c Small Queen toed by Toronto ovals to Berlin. Also an 1894 uprated stationery cover mailed to New York, with the four ½c Small Queens tied by Bleeker St. ovals, as well as 4 Small Queen items with Toronto ovals, including a registered cover with "C" (College St.) ovals and a very fine 2c deep carmine rose Registration stamp (cover is torn), a ½c single on a drop wrapper, a 1c single on cover with "4" (Yorkville) oval (crease and open on 3 sides) and a 3c cross-border cover from Bleeker St. Last but not least is an incoming 1920 registered cover from Sierra Leone with a lovely Supreme Court wax seal and oval Toronto receiver. A useful lot for the specialist.

198 CVR/PC   imageExhibit of Hamilton Ontario Bickerdike Machine Cancellations, 1897-1902, a 26 page exhibit which includes 50 choice covers or cards (plus three more not mounted on pages) including destinations (to and from), illustrated advertising, etc. Starts with examples of the F7-A and B (including a rare complete strike used to receive), then F8-A and B, then F8 usages (receivers, transits) followed with scarce M6-A and B examples (including a rare (one of two recorded) M6-B with "Small CANADA" obliterator), and appropriately ends with a last day use of the Bickerdike M6 (OCT.21.1902, 2 pm) alongside an OCT.21.1902 (10 pm) Hamilton International machine on cover (the only recorded example). One of the strong points of this exhibit is on dater hub / obliterator changes and combinations. 200 CVR/PC   imageThe Rob Leigh Massive Collection / Accumulation of International Machine Cancels, 1902-1920, with roughly 2,500 covers and cards, all sorted by city or town, and appears to include all the towns that used International machines (including St John's and St John's East NL), with various quantities of each. These were collected to extensively study all of the dater hubs and obliterators (wavy lines and slogans), and there are undoubtedly many rare / better towns or cancels included, especially slogans, earliest or latest dates, etc. Much of the data in the PHSC online database and in the IMCRSC study group newsletters was derived from this collection. There are also many better items such as advertising covers, rare uses of the International machine on registered mail, foreign destinations, saw one nice Saint John NB cover with a 1914 Exhibition slogan and illustrated advertising of the same (illustrated on PHSC website) and much more, including many nude strikes (third class mail). Many of the items are sleeved, and faults are to be expected in this overall fine or better collection. Photos show an overview, plus some of the better items we stumbled upon during a quick look, including the only three known examples of the "Camp Borden Ontario" machine hub, a first day of use (FEB.5.1902) Toronto on an advertising cover, etc. Should easily be worth an average of $1 per cover.
