1009 c, entire, etc. imageFalkland Islands Dependencies: South Georgia: 1912 (Apr. 19) Argentinian real photographic postcard with view of King Edward Cove, franked by 1904-12 1/2d. with light SG1 c.d.s’s and message headed “Grytviken 19 April 1912”, addressed by Mrs. Andrine Larsen to Adalbert Kielland, carried to Buenos Aires on the “Cachalote” and redirected within Norway with Kristiania May 12 machine cancellation. Norwegian architect Aadalbert Stuber Kielland (1879–1956) was the son-in law of Capt. Carl Anton Larsen, prime mover for the establishment of the church at Grytviken. On May 14 1911 an advertisement was placed in the newspapers in Kristiania for a ‘priest and lecturer’ whilst the church, prefabricated by Strømmen Trævarefabrik and of a size to accommodate 200 persons, arrived and was ready for consecration by Christmas 1913.
