Letter sent from Lourenço Marques on 12 February 1903, postage of 75 reis, 3 stamps of 10 reis Mouchon on the front and a strip of 3 of 15 reis provisional on the back, to Switzerland, via Pretoria and Cape Town. Insufficient postage (it should have been 130 reis), it was postage-paid in L. Marques, due to the lack of 55 reis, which is equivalent to 22 centimes. 353 imageAirmail. First DOX flight. Ceres. Letter circulated from Lisbon, January 29, 1931, to N. York, with transit in Rio de Janeiro on June 22, 1931. The DOX departed from Lake Constance on November 5, 1930, to start the first transatlantic trip to North America. Leaving Friedrichshafen on November 5, it passed through Amsterdam and Galshot (England), from where it proceeded to Lisbon, the following day (November 6). It had a fire that destroyed the covering of the left wing, which delayed the departure from Lisbon by more than two months. In Lisbon, it was franked with 30$00, postage for the flight for 10 grams, made with Cerres stamps of 10$00 London issue Mf#19 (€120 on letter for each stamp). On January 29, it continued to the Canary Islands, Bolama and Cape Verde, Fernando de Noronha, Natal arriving in Rio on June 20. It has commemorative stamps on the front and back.
