1169 og/nhO   Great Britain collection to 2012 in mounts housed in a bulging Minkus album, mostly used to 1883 then mainly mint, starts with pleasing examples of 1840 1d Black and 2d Blue, then many other line engraved issues, 1847 1/- and 1854 6d embossed issues, both with excellent margins, the surface printed issues are nicer than normal and include 1857 5/- and 1882-83 5/- and 10/- wmked anchor, these three having nice c.d.s. cancels, then mostly mint with 1883-84 ½d to 1/- complete, 1884 5/-, 1887-92 Jubilee complete, Edward VII complete to 1/-, plus numerous shade and printing varieties and the perf. 15x14 set, 1912 ½d pair with no cross on crown (S.G. #340a) with RPS certificate, 1913 ½d and 1d coils, postage dues complete, officials with mint Scott #O2, O6, O12, O38, O43, O44-45, O46 (creased), O61, O63-64, O67-68 and O76 and used O8 and O49, some of which may not be genuine, George VI complete, then QEII pretty much complete, with Wilding wmk, tagging and graphite varieties, phosphor commemoratives and 1975 8p Sailing with black omitted, in addition there is a separate album with Regionals, Alderney Jersey, Guernsey and Isle of Man, plus a half dozen large envelopes with new issues up until quite recently, some small faults mostly among the nineteenth century, but nicer than usual with many fine-very fine to be found throughout. 1170 Oc   Great Britain extensive used and postal history collection offered intact as received with strength in nineteenth century, mounted and written-up on quadrilled pages housed in seven albums, the first album is Queen Victoria line engraved issues including ten 1d Blacks off cover and five on cover, plus four 2d Blues, the later line engraved are extensive including many 1d Reds with Maltese Cross cancels including twelve with numbers in cross, many early perforated issues including cancels and covers, 1858-79 1d Red plate numbers complete bar 77 and 225, embossed issues, ½d plate numbers complete, the second album is comprised of the surface printed issues including officials, postal fiscals and telegraph stamps, as well as covers, the third album contains King Edward VII to QEII issues to 1970 including Postage Dues, Officials, Offices in Turkey and Morocco as well as some covers, the remaining four volumes are mostly covers, the first with a collection of Bolton postmarks, including a pair of 1d Blacks on cover, pre-stamp covers and various types of postmarks including field and military post offices, next comes an album of special commemorative postmarks, travelling post offices, air mail cancels and nice British Post Offices abroad cancels mostly off cover, the last two volumes are all maritime mail with extensive Paquebot covers and cancels as well as ship letter markings and other maritime mails, overall an interesting collection that is fun to view, however the condition is quite mixed so a careful examination is recommended. 1177 ogObl   India - Bhopal extensive "speculative issues" specialized collection neatly mounted and written-up on quadrilled pages in a binder, mostly unused, but also some used or favor cancelled, with many hundreds of items including singles, blocks, full sheets, spelling errors and plate reconstructions, with issues of 1872-96, 1884-1901 and 1902-03 all very well represented; according to Stanley Gibbons catalog some of the earlier stamps remained on sale, and probably still in use, after the issue of 1902, and some of these were afterwards put on sale with the new form of embossing; fresh plates were made for some of the old designs, in imitation of the earlier issues and impressions of these were also sold with the new embossed device; a fascinating lot which really needs to be seen to be fully appreciated.
