402 c 1b, 2 image#1b, 2, 1851 3d Red, bisect used as 1½d, and 6d Olive yellow, neatly tied to ladies cover to London, England by two strikes of oval grid cancels, red "St. John-N.B/Paid/AU 8, 1859" double-arc c.d.s., similar St. John black pmk on the reverse, "By Steamer/via Halifax, N.S." in ms. and "London/Paid/AU23, 59" receiving c.d.s. on the front, stamps have full large margins with excellent color and impression, very fine; a lovely example of this scarce usage to England in which the only way to make the proper 7½d rate was by bisecting the 3d value; ex-W.H.
