on this plate), backstamped Stone (18. 7.41) double-arc cds, and London 19. 7.41 arrival cds, the adhesives lifted, creasing reduced and hinged back in place, and the name and address partially re-written, none the less a magnificent and highly
important franking, A superb Exhibition showpiece.

1841 1d red-brown pl.2 from the "black" printing, four singles on lettersheet from Erme Bridge (Devon) to London tied by red MCs, RA defective at right, ‘QL’ creased, endorsed ‘’(to) pay’’ and ‘’More to pay’’ handstamp. The lettersheet
has been reduced at both sides and the stamps lifted and replaced (out of position), extremely rare to have the red Maltese Cross on a multiple franking of the red printing from the black plate (S.G. Spec AS17va, £24'000 for single on cover). Cert.
