60414 ,,DE,O,   Paraguay: 1820-1898, Exhibition collection mounted on 80 pages, including some prephilatelic covers, the 1860 essays, 1870 a small plating study, 1870 1r rose on envelope to Corrientes (Scott 1 2000$), 1878 5c surcharge several used and mint examples, 1879-1881 various colour essays, perforation varieties, multiples, 1881-1884 surcharge "1" on 1 real rose a spectacular sheet reconstruction from the Benítez Ciotti collection, 1884 proofs, 1887 issue on cover to Buenos Aires, signed by the expert Peter Holcombe, a scarce usage of 1887 20c + 15c on cover to Berlin (signed Holcombe), 1889-91 engraved essay, various covers of the 1892-96 issue including one with postmark of "COLONIA NUEVA GERMANIA", a very rare 1890 OFICIAL overprint on 10c on cover from the "MINISTERIO DE RELACIONES EXTERIORES" to Buenos Aires (signed Holcombe), the collection ends with postal stationeries including illustrated ones. 60421 ,DE,O,   imagePersia: 1909, THE LAR FIND (Issue of a revolutionary group during the uprisings in Lar) the story: during our recent description time in preparation of the June sale we got whilst working on an all world consignment of covers & stamps to a box - which at first glance - looked like mostly rubbish, odds and ends of all world, cheap to medium cheap stamp sets or covers. One was intended to leave this as an all world mix BUT suddenly there were a few envelopes found which had the inscription of Administration des Postes and the Persian lion, on checking the 2 smaller envelopes, there were in each envelope a lettersheet of July,1909 addressed to the Directeur General des Postes a Teheran from Province director of Direction General du Sud writing about the recent uprising and that he was successfully trying to get the stamps of this revolutionary group, which he enclosed. So by further opening of these lettersheets there was a glassine found with 3 used examples and in the other envelope in a kind of small paper pochette 4 unused examples of the smaller size values conclusion: without doubt these letters together with their writing & contents are of a kind of postal historic extra value bringing some more light into this 'mysterious' issue insofar as we know now that the Persian Postal Administration did know about the issue of these Lar adhesives already in 1909 philatelic contents of the lot: 3 used and 4 unused LAR adhesives in violet, a bunch of the 1906 Tabriz emergency issue 3CH green/black used (around a 50 to 70 adhesives still unwashed with remainder of the forms they were originally used on), mostly with Taurus postmark, also a nearly complete set in numbered sheets MNH / * (6Ch value missing), 1 pair of the perforated 1ch and finally a semi-modern FDC condition: mostly fine to very fine(Image 1) (Image 2)
