 1861 5c olive green, stones A or B, a cover with an amazing horizontal strip of four, with wide margins all around (right stamp wrinkled when applied on cover), tied to attractive and fresh yellow-brown cover by pencil cancellation, with
ms 5c postage due, sent to a member of the 6th Reg’t Virginia Cavalry. This spectacular strip is one of the largest used multiples of the stamp on cover. Our review of the Siegel auction archive has not revealed anything of a comparable nature;

 1871, "Escuelas" 50r yellow-green, first printing, a remarkable pair possessing clear to ample margins, delightfully fine impression, unused without gum. The pair has probably been removed from a document or ledger page as the reverse of
the stamps show ink marks that have seeped through onto the paper; slight discolouration at lower left corner, in no way detracting. The highest denomination of this issue, with only 1,000 printed, is a great rarity in unused condition and unique as
