Packet", each with a mainly fine brown (1814) or black (1816) large "TRINIDAD" fleuron on the reverse (1816 across the join with seal tear); each charged "2/6" and with a fair large boxed "Addl/½" Scottish Mail Tax mark with a fair Glasgow d.s. on the front. The 1814 letter refers to problems with privateers; "[In April] There were so many Packets captured... that the letters for Europe were obliged to be sent in a very circuitous way - some I believe was forwarded by Bermuda, & Mrs. Burnley's by the Surinam Packet via Martinique...".
