1903   image1841-1854 LINE ENGRAVED COVERS: Selection of mainly 1d Reds with a 2d Blue. A varied and appealing group of covers, generally in good to fine condition. Notable items inc. 31 Jan. 1842 1d red brown CK, nearly four margins (close but clear at lower left) tied by a neat Glasgow Maltese Cross on cover to Edinburgh; 1843 cover bearing four 1d red singles (PE, PF, PA & P? - fourth stamp with missing right corner), all cancelled by clear Maltese Crosses; 1847 env. (repaired) ex Kingston to Blandford, then redirected to Tedworth with fine UDC, and redirected again to Salisbury, franked with near four margin 1d red (tight at top left with very large lower margin) and marked with large manuscript "2"” denoting an unusual double forwarding charge; 1845 EL headed "British Alkali Company, Bromsgrove" franked with 2d blue (cut into at lower left).
