MAIL TO USA: Trio of ship letters inc. 11 Jan. 1853 EL from Port au Prince to Boston via New York carried on ship "Clara Windsor".
Contents are an order from John B Hepburn on behalf of Faustin Solouque, Emperor of Haiti, for various goods inc. ' a large bathing tub of zinc' and a copper still. Charged 7c Ship Letter rate to New York; also 19 Nov. 1857 letter from Port au Prince
to Boston via Philadelphia, also originating from John B Hepburn. Philadelphia arrival mark of 12 Jan. 1858 and italic "5" hs charge mark alongside small "SHIP" mark; and 15 Apr. 1867 letter from Port au Prince to New York charged 4c with NY ship

1887 PRESIDENT LYSIUS SALOMON ISSUE: The issued set of 4 stamps mint plus several used sets and a range of proofs in both issued and
unissued colours inc. 5c black in imperf. gummed block of 8. Lot inc. 2 'formula' cards F10 type with 1c adhesive unused and F11 type with 2c adhesive unused. Also May 1890 cover to London bearing a pair of 5c green and 1888 mixed franking cover to
New York bearing 3c blue Salomon type and 7c blue Liberty Head type. Display also inc. study of the 1890 2c on 3c surcharge issue inc. mint blocks, missing characters and 1891 cover to Paris franked by a pair of the 3c blue and a pair of 2c on 3c
surcharge issue. Of particular note is the very scarce use of a single 2c surcharge on cover to Paris paying the overseas printed matter rate (date unclear - no arrival mark). (Image)

of multiple and inverted surcharges, missing "DEUX", etc., inc. block of 10. Covers inc. Nov. 1898 cover to Manchester (corner snipped off) with both surcharge types paying the 4c rate for foreign printed matter. Scarce thus. Also Mar. 1900 PPC to

1898 THIRD PALM TREE ISSUE: Mint & used collection of the 6 different values, inc. imperfs., mis-perfs, double prints & covers. Of
particular note is the 3 Sep. 1898 registered cover from Cap Haitien to Le Havre via New York franked by 3c, 7c & 5 x 20c. SG state that all values except 2c & 5c were unissued, however the cover is addressed to L H Reine (Henri Reine, a Cap Haitien
businessman financed the issue and retained most of the 1c, 3c, 7c & 20c values). Also Dec. 1898 2c P.Stat. card uprated with 2c carmine to cover the 3c rate to Leipzig (overpaid 1c) and a large piece (wrapper/parcel?) addressed to Paris franked by 4
x 2c & 4 x 5c in combination with 4 x 7c of the 1896 2nd Palms issue, Lot also inc. 1c ultramarine imperf. being printed double and 5c green perforated also printed double plus a a range of various imperf singles in a variety of colours printed on

1898 THIRD PALM TREE ISSUE - PROOFS & COLOUR TRIALS: Plate proofs of several values inc. large blocks on watermarked paper without
gum. These are 2c value in blocks of 25, 4 (2 blocks) a pair & 2 singles, all in shades of carmine-red. Also colour trial blocks of 4 in colours of blue-grey, green, orange & brown, etc. and 8 singles; 3c purple value in blocks of 6 and 4 (2 blocks)
