CHARLES WHITING COLOURED PRINTING - MUSIC FESTIVAL TICKETS: Two very fine & attractive embossed tickets to the 1834 "ROYAL MUSIC
FESTIVAL" at Westminster Abbey. One for the "FOURTH REHEARSAL" on June 26th costing "HALF-A-GUINEA" - white embossing with green lettering on plain card; the other for the "FOURTH PERFORMANCE" on July 1st for "ONE GUINEA" - white embossing with green
lettering on buff coloured card. V. pronounced & well-preserved embossing, especially of the coat of arms - fine examples of Whiting's work. (2)

2d MULREADY ENVELOPE - VERY RARE UNPLACED STEREO: Stereo a195, an unused example of this unplaced stereo. Two small hinge marks on
reverse, otherwise fine. SG ME4c £625. Note- a195 is scarce and being the lowest Stereo known was probably substituted by a204 at an early stage.

to Cambridge and neatly cancelled with a red MX. Fine. Note the GBPS lists 14 Feb. 1841 as the 1st date (Sunday) that black ink was used outside London. This item was therefore used on the last day red ink was officially used. (Image)
