Columbian, tied to registered Columbian Exposition postal stationery entire to Vienna, Austria by Chicago registry ovals, struck with clear "REGISTERED / OCT 20 1983 / World's Fair Station / CHICAGO, ILL" four-line datestamp, with day slug inverted, New York registration etiquette affixed partially overtop 4c adhesive, reverse with Chicago (Oct 20), New York (Oct 23), and Vienna (Nov 3) backstamps, a very fine usage of the 10c orange Special Delivery and World's Fair Station registry marking, to a foreign destination. Blue Issue 1894: 10 c. blue, group of three covers, comprising two 1895 domestic usages on 1 c. stationery card and 2 c. stationery cover, both locally carried within Boston, and 1895 (Oct 25) cover from London to Lynn, Massachusetts, carried via the steamship "Lucania", the stamp likely applied in London for express service on arrival in the United States, the sole such recorded example (ex Markovits), the latter cover with faults, the others very fine, a desirable trio of uncommon usages. Blue Issue 1895, 10 c. blue, postal history group of eight, illustrating a diversity of usages, including non-delivery carrier notices, one with adhesive double-crossed in pen denoting attempted delivery, another with notice of attempt to delivery affixed to front, varieties on cover including the "dots in curved arc above messenger" and "line through colour through POSTAL DELIVERY", the latter on florist advertising cover, two examples of local service, including one uncommon usage on a particularly fresh postal card, three 1900/02 examples to or from Cleveland displaying attempts to reduce carrier fraud, with strikes of "NOTICE / No Charges / On This Mail" or "PAY NO MONEY TO MESSENGER", and two examples of foreign origin, including use on 1901 stationery card fom Canada, and one on piece cancelled in Pago Pago Samoa, one of only two recorded examples, the odd small fault, but a mostly very fine group of unusual and desirable covers.
