Rio de Janeiro despatch cds below (Sept 19) with framed "PD" in red with Bordeaux entry marking in red alongside (Oct 18). A charming and rare cover - just three covers are recorded with a strip of three of the 20 reis, this being the sole example with a mixed issue franking. Unused multiples of this stamp are rare (no examples in Pracchia or Ferreira, just a block of four in the Angelo Lima sale). A very attractive and most unusual large multiple Scott = $ 690+. An enormously rare stamp in a large multiple (no larger used multiples noted in Burrus, Hubbard, Pracchia, Lima or Ferreira collections) and believed to be the second largest block known. Cert.
