10052 piece/bof imageInclinados 60 r. black on thin greyish paper, a single example (Type II), used on piece with the famous 90 r. black vertical block of sixteen (2 x 8) showing the alternating types I with ten examples and II with six, thus: Type I / II / I / II / I / II / I / I and thus being from the base of the sheet where the consecutive two rows of Type I are located, all tied by oval framed "CIDADE / DE / CAMPOS" handstamps in black (Ayres fig. 1256). The block, probably emanating from a judicial document "Autos de Foro" has been sympathetically cleaned, is of fine colour with close to good margins all round and of spectacular appearance. Illustrated in "Inclinados" by Bernd Juchert on 107 and in Walter Taveira on page 228. A remarkable multiple in the foremost quality for this rarity. Ferreira, Christie's, New York, 15 Nov 1994, lot 2150; Everaldo Santos, Afinsa, Madrid, March 2001, lot 97. (Image 1) (Image 2)
