640 cover imageLarge Camel 1917: 3 m. reddish purple postal card, an unused examples of vibrant colour, vivid impression. A fine and scarce survivor. (H&G 11). Note: It has been speculated that this card comes from unoverprinted remainders of the overprinted 3 m. cards issued in 1907. However, the colour and shade are very different from this issue and from the De La Rue printing records we know that printings of 3 m. cards were invoiced in November 1916, December 1917, November 1918 (2) and finally December 1919, but the colour is not mentioned. It is most likely that this was issued in 1917. (Image 1) (Image 2) (Image 3)

648 cover image1920-1923: Collection of postal stationery cards, envelopes and wrappers written-up upon thriteen album pages. Comprising thirty-four examples unused and used predominately Small Camel issues. Key items are; 1920 Large Camel 3 m. green postal card one unused and one used from Halfa to Cairo (not listed by H&G), only two used examples are recorded. 1922 Small Camel 10 m. red postal card with "COLONIAS" handstamp diagonally in purple from the U.P.U. distribution to Portuguese colonies. It is damaged at top and has crease however a rare examples. The collection has thirteen used examples many with additional postage and a few sent registered. Overall a fine selection informatively presented as a study of the issues and their usage. A scarce group (34). Note: It is unclear why the 1920 Large Camel 3 m. green postal card was printed in green instead of the reddish-purple. A theory is that the colour of the local cards was kept green like the 2 m. cards when the postage rate went up from 2 m. to 3 m. in 1917. When the card was issued it is not precisely known as there is no mention of colour in the De La Rue printing records. However, the last Large Camel 3 m. printing was invoiced in December 1919. The only two used cards are date 1922. (Image 1) (Image 2) (Image 3) (Image 4) (Image 5) (Image 6) (Image 7) (Image 8) (Image 9) (Image 10) (Image 11) (Image 12) (Image 13)
