British Protectorate 1815-1864 1854 (July 20): Military Concession rate entire letter from "Citadel Barracks, Corfu" to Glasgow, with "1" penny prepaid in red manuscript near badly struck "? / PAID AT CORFU" in black. Endorsed
at top from Corporal William Anderson 1st Battalion 71st. Highland Regiment of Foot and correctly countersigned at base. Carried on P&O "Tiber" as mentioned in the contents. Reverse with framed "LIVERPOOL / SHIP" datestamp (July 31) and Glasgow
arrival cds of the following day. Charged with handstruck "2" pence in error on arrival, due to Crown Circle being poorly struck. The entire restored but nevertheless a very rare entire(Image 1)

British Protectorate 1815-1864 1847/54: Great Britain Embossed 6 d. mauve, a horizontal pair used on 1856 incoming cover from Ardee, Co. Louth to the writer and arrtist Edward Lear care of the Post Office in Corfu, Ionian
Islands. The pair cut round at sides but neatly tied by "Drogheda / 179" Spoon cancellations (Sept 18) and by "Aus England Per Aachen / Franco" cds in red (Sept 20). Reverse with small "CORFU" arrival cds and manuscript "3" (pence) charge in
manuscript on obverse. Manuscript "Answered October 9" in Lear's hand at left, side flaps missing and slight staining away from adhesives but nevertheless an attractive usage(Image 1)
