British Colony of Black River, Mosquito Coast 1764: Entire letter with full dateline "Black River, Mosquito Shore, March 1, 1764" mailed to Bristol, UK endorsed "P. His Majesty's ship Richmond QDC" with circular Bishop Mark of
arrival (12/IV) - June 12, on reverse and manuscript "7" pence deleted and apparently rated just "3" pence. An extremely rare entire, this abortive attempt at colonisation had ended just five day before this entire was written when the last of the
British troops had left "all the soldiers left this place for Jamaica on the 23rd.". The writer, Robert Hodgson, was awaiting a further transport so that he could faciliate shipping back the Troop's arms and supplies along with his own Sarsparilla on
the ship Charlestown; and discusses the arrival of the Spanish from Omoa to take over the Black River Colony. A fascinating document in superb condition. Ex the Brian Moorhouse estate(Image 1)

Lots & Collections 1896/1936: Selection of thirty-seven unused stamps and a block of four, ranging from Victoria 2d to George V $1, including shades and a George V 6c 'CHINA' overprint. The condition varies; several are
very fine. Also included is a group of postage dues with a complete set from 1c to 10c, both single and in vertical pairs, some with faults. Additionally, an extensive array of used stamps spans sixteen stock pages, featuring significant duplication
but a broad range of values and reigns from Victoria to George VI, with limited Elizabeth II issues. Noteworthy are very fine examples, superior postmarks, and cancellations. Completing the lot is a collection on five stock-book pages from QV to
1974, both used and unused, including notable G V 50c and $2 'SPECIMEN' stamps. A diverse and valuable lot(Image 1)
