518 cover image1902: Official Stamps, collection of thirty covers and cover fronts franked with Official stamps, written-up on album pages with a few loose, predominately the 5 c., 10 c. and 25 c. values including a mixed franking of 5 c. (x1) and 10 c. (x2) and a few with multiples; noted rare example of the 2 c. carmine used on a cover to Buenos Aires, Argentina (presented as the only known example); also three registered covers to different destinations; Belgium, Cuba and one to Portugal sent from the Presidents office; several printed official department envelopes and a 1908 large envelope franked with a horizontal pair of the 25 c. orange sent to USA (described as the only recorded multiple 25 c. franking), condition is mixed in places as might be expected for these scarce covers to foreign destinations, although some are fine and attractive, a scarce selection. 525 cover image1876-1936: Group of postal stationery items. Two envelopes ½ r. one used in 1876 the other in 1880 (?), 10 c. envelope 1890 unused. Uprated stationery postcard 3 c. Quetzal with 6 c. Quetzal stamp from "QUETZALRENANGO" with misty blue illustration on reverse (Bullring), addressed to Magedeburg, Germany. 3 c. stationery postcard reply 1894 from "MAGDEBURG", Germany to COBAN. Unused complete reply card 3 c. Quetzal, miscut with the card upright at the top, of a pair with the blank back of the adjoining card underneath (rare, not recoded in the G2 handbook). Two reply cards Central American Exposition 1897, one in black the other red and black, both SPECIMEN; stationery card 1898 with new years greetings from a postal director in "CHAMPERICO 17.12.98" to another postal director in "ACAJUTLA" arrived on 22.12.; stationery card 50 c. with overprint for official use with added 5 c. stamp used 1936; and last a stationery card-letter with franchise during the exposition 1905, with violet cds "CORREO DE LA EXPOSITION 16 SET 1905", with full text (in German) on the reverse illustration of the UPU monument in Berne. 526 cover image1881: Two covers 'Second Quetzal' issue: 2 c. brown & green, a horizontal strip of five folded around edge of 1885 'Hill' cover addressed to Nova Scotia, cancelled by segmented cork handstamps in black with 'Correos / Guatemala' cds (Jan 15) in violet at left. Reverse with San Francisco transit cds (Feb 2) and Halifax arrival. Envelope trimmed at left, not affecting the adhesives, an unusual destination for this issue. The other cover Quetzal 5 c. red & green, a used example, marginal from left of sheet, used on 1886 as internal mail to Jalapa tied by bold "Correos / Guatemala" cds (Feb). One franked 2 c. + 6 c. on front and 1 c. 6x ( = 3 pairs) + 6 c. on reverse, the stamps on the reverse are mostly uncancelled. The other 1 c. strip of four + 6 c.
