60 reis black, Early Impression on yellowish paper, the superb top marginal horizontal pair, huge margins and full marginal line at top (First Composite plate, State B, positions 2-3), used on 1844 cover from Pernambuco to
Santos, correctly pre-paying the ship rate, tied by "PERNAMBUCO SHIELD" datestamp (Jan 29) in black (Ayres fig. 1548). Illustrated in Juchert "Bull's Eyes on Covers" on page 221. Some ageing to the ink but an extremely attractive and very rare cover:

and 16 ounces dated 26 Mar 1846 – the Bull’s Eyes paying a 480 réis rate from Itaborai to Rio de Janeiro, uncancelled as the document was sent by a special court messenger, with large margins on the strip of six and the pair just shaved on one stamp
and with scissor cut in margin only, some typical worm holes. Reply document included with 1844/46 30 r. grey-black, a single example applied above a 60 r. black block of twelve (2 x 6) used on the return of the Judicial document from Rio de Janeiro
to Itaborai dated 4th April 1846, all with just touched to mostly large margins all round, one stamp with worm hole, tied by rimless "CORREIO GERAL DE CORTE" circular datestamps dated 5th May 1846 in black. Illustrated and discussed by Everaldo
Santos FRPSL in the London Philatelist, Volume 124, Oct 2015, where there is a full discussion on the usages of both Bull's Eye usages and later multiples applied to judicial forms for pre-payment, this item illustrated on page 361. Copies of the
