wonderful and rare cover-just two are known from S. Matheuz, both from the same correspondence (the other being ex-Koester). Slight imperfections to the outer letter sheet of no significance. Illustrated in Juchert "Bull's Eyes on Covers" on page

30 reis grey, Worn Impression on yellowish paper, a horizontal pair used on 1843 entire letter to Lavras, Minas showing the considerable plate wear during the first month of issue, the entire clearly dated internally August
28, 1843 and folded for Exhibit display cancelled by by "CORREIO GERAL DA CORTE / 29-8-1843" datestamp in black. The pair with left stamp slight crease but both with large margins all round, has been removed from the back of the cover and re-affixed.
