10024 bof image30 reis black, Early Impression, a used corner marginal block of four with good to enormous margins all round (positions 47-48/53-54) from the lower, third plate (3 x 18) in an excellent deep shade, neatly cancelled by two strikes of rimless "CORREIO GERAL DA CORTE" circular datestamps (8 Jan 1845) in black: one of the latest usages of the 'rimless' datestamp that this describer has recorded. Trivial tone spot between lower pair, illustrated in Juchert "Ochsenaugen im Viererblock" on page 17. A wonderful and spectacular rarity. Signed A. Diena, Calves. 10025 cover image30 reis black, Early Impression, a superb large margined horizontal pair used on reverse of April 1844 cover to Vitoria, cancelled by complete strike of straight line S. MATHEUZ handstamp (Ayres fig. 1175) in black. A wonderful and rare cover-just two are known from S. Matheuz, both from the same correspondence (the other being ex-Koester). Slight imperfections to the outer letter sheet of no significance. Illustrated in Juchert "Bull's Eyes on Covers" on page 264. An extremely rare cover. Cert. Moorhouse (2013). 10033 cover image30 reis grey, Worn Impression on yellowish paper, a horizontal pair used on 1843 entire letter to Lavras, Minas showing the considerable plate wear during the first month of issue, the entire clearly dated internally August 28, 1843 and folded for Exhibit display cancelled by by "CORREIO GERAL DA CORTE / 29-8-1843" datestamp in black. The pair with left stamp slight crease but both with large margins all round, has been removed from the back of the cover and re-affixed. Illustrated in Juchert "Bull's Eyes on Covers" on page 78. Despite the small faults, a dramatic and rare first month of use entire, of which only three are recorded. Cert. RPSL (1996), Moorhouse (2013).
