Illustrated in Edward Hibbert "St. Helena" on colour plate viii. Only 12 of each these varieties can exist, with a block of twenty housed in the collection of King Charles III, leaving a possible ten examples of each available. CC, perf. 12½, ONE SHILLING Thick Bar surcharge (B), an unused vertical pair, variety "Double Surcharge" on the lower stamp (positions 37 / 49), well centred, large part og. The Setting was of five horizontal rows of twelve stamps, the second application of the forme was one row too high, resulting in the fifth row being doubly printed. Just twelve examples can exist, two of which are housed in the collection of His Majesty King Charles III. Excellent quality and an extremely rare pair. Cert.
