Thomas De La Rue & Co., stating "Please to let your representatives call here any morning between 10 and 11 am., with reference to designing and supplying this company with Stamps", signed at base by a Mr. M. Clayden, company secretary of Tati Concessions. Some pencil notes made presumably upon the visit with "Original Pl(ate) - £ 20, Duty plate from origin(al) - £ 3, Working plates £ 1'060, 5'000 (stamps) - £ 10...". Photographic reproduction of the original hand-coloured unadopted Essay is attached to the letter.
