Only ten covers flown, a rarity of South American early airmails. Covers minimal toned, otherwise fine and scarce.rnNote: Carried from Rio de Janeiro to Montevideo by the seaplane "Buenos Ayres", piloted by Bernado Duggan, E. Olivero and Ernesto Campanelli. According to the "El Correo Aéreo Rioplatense" handbook by Bousquet, the widow of Bernardo Duggan stated that ten covers were dispatched to Montevideo.rn  (Image 1)

Orinoque", bearing 1866 60 r. black perforated, scissor cut at right in mixed franking with 1877 Dom Pedro 200 r. black rouletted, tied by segmented cork cancels, with "RIO DE JANEIRO" despatch cds alongside, French "BRESIL / BORDEAUX" entry cds in blue (6 Aug) tying the lower adhesive. Reverse struck by BERN transit, and LANGENTHAL arrival (7 Aug), then LANGNAU on the same day. Interesting franking in the new 260 reis rate to Switzerland valid from July 1877 coming from the well known company Luchsinger in Rio Grande do Sul. (Image 1) (Image 2)
