Circular "PAID / ALL" in black and "San Francisco Paid All" arrival in red (Nov 2). Listed in the Ben Palmer census on page 282. Top flap mostly missing on reverse but a charming usage - and a very early advertising envelope for "Custom House & Forwarding Agent" of Brisbane and the Eclipse Colliery of Ipswich.rn (Image 1) (Image 2)

10153 imageSideface 1890/94: 2 d. blue, a single example used on 1893 cover from a Chinese merchant in Cairns (cachet on reverse) to Melbourne, Victoria; cancelled in transit at Brisbane (Jan 18) and struck with oval "LOOSE / SHIP / LETTER" with "2d." and straight line "LATE FEE" markings below all in black. Oval framed "T 2D." applied on arrival in Melbourne and franked by Victoria 1890 Postage Due 2 d. dull blue & lake (Gi D3). The cover with opening tear at top but a rare combination of instructional markings. According to Bernie Manning this is the earliest recorded Late Fee Marking.rn (Image 1) (Image 2)

Reverse with Tamata cds, Samarai (Sept 14) datestamp, Cookstown (Sept 25), Brisbane (Oct 12) and Armagh arrival cds (Nov 1). A very rare cover: the Tamata datestamp in violet is believed unique.
