Casper, Wyo", plus related real-photo ppc. The Chicago, Burlington & Quincy passenger train no. 30 left Casper, Wyo., on time at 8.35 p.m., when it reached 15 miles east the bridge near Lockett spanning over the Coal Creek. The bridge had been
undermined by high waters due to heavy enduring rainfall, and just collapsed under the train; several cars fell into the river. Forty persons were killed.

1923, 11 October, Train Raid, USA, heavily burnt fragment of cover and related P.O. label "This mail damaged by fire and dynamite in hold-up of Ashland & Gerber Tran
No. 13, at Siskiyou, Oregon, October 11, 1923." This raid was conducted by the DeAutremont Brothers, was unsuccessfull but cost the life of four crewmen. After a nationwide manhunt, they were finally arrested in 1927.
