 1845 Hong Kong (24 Aug) to Ferderick Huth & Co., London. Entire letter, stated “consignees” and rated “3”, applied with crowned “EXEMPT SHIP LR” cachet. , “SHIPLETTER” cachet and London (24 Feb) arrival d.s. It is the only
recorded example of “EXEMPT SHIP LR” cachet from Hong Kong. As a consignee’s letter, i was exempt from shipletter charge. Ex- Mick Goldsmith.
1845.8.24 香港寄倫敦Frederick Huth & Co.。郵簡，寫有“- consignees”及郵資“3”，鈐皇冠“EXEMPT SHIP LR”橫戳、“-

 1854 New York (7 Nov) to Augustine Heard & Co., Canton. Entire letter, sent “per overland via Marseilles”, rated “1/4”, applied with New York sender company seal on reverse. Showing Baring Borthers & Co / London oval
forwarding agent seal on front, alongside with London (25 Nov) PAID transit cds. Arrived Hong Kong (20 Feb). Scarce privatelly carried example from New York to London. Baring Brothers & Co forwarder seal is also scarce on China mail. Due to
Crimean War, P&O serivce was downsized during that period. One of the four examples of Calcutta-Hong Kong line during this period. Ex- LC Scamp.

鴉片海運提單，交Bareacord船付運，由巴克理船長于1848年5月9日在孟買簽發，將21箱白土鴉片運往香港，注明運費為每箱4銀元。提單一般一套連

 1841 China (6 Jan) to USA. Entire letter, carried privately, rated “16- 2/3”. The content is to offer condolences on the death of the addressee’s husband. British forces in China took formal possession of Hong Kong on 26
January 1841. It cover, on the other hand, is probably the earliest mail from possession. Carried by private ship from China to USA.
1841.1.6 中國寄美國。郵簡，私人送遞，寫有郵資“16-2/3”，內容為 通知收件人之丈夫死訊。1841年1月26日，英國正式佔領香港，此信應為佔領後最早寄出之郵件。由私人船隻送至美國。極具歷史意義。(Image 1)
