 1903 Mexico (19 Nov) to Societe de Construction des Chemins de Fer du Yunnan, f.w. Mexican issues x4. Transit San Francisco (Nov), Hong Kong (11 Jan), Haiphong (15 Jan), Laokay (19 Jan), Mongtsz French PO (27 Jan). Arrived with
extremely scarce Mongtze B (Yunnanfou) (5 Feb) cds. Extremely scarce origin, not to mention applied with the Mongtze B cds. Smiliar to the Laokay A post, French Indo-China established a post office in Yunnanfu in 1902 without permission from the
Chinese Government. It was named Mongtze B to keep a low profile until a permission to set up a post office was granted. Mongtze B was renamed Yunnanfu. About 20 covers from “Mongtze B” are known to survive.

墨西哥寄雲南滇越鐵路公司，貼墨西哥票4枚。同月經三藩市，1.11經香港，1.15經海防，1.19經老街，1.27經蒙自法局。2.5抵雲南府，鈐極罕之蒙自B局日戳。極為少見之始發地，鈐蒙自B局日戳更是可遇不可求。 一如老街A局，法屬印支郵政在未經清政府批准擅自在雲南府設立郵局，在日戳上雋刻地名“蒙自B”以掩人耳目。1904年，清政府才同意法國在雲南府設局，於是改回“雲南府”地名。 以“蒙自B” 地名發出的實寄封有20多件，是法國客郵中的罕品。(Image 1)
