 1899 a pair of incoming US stationery covers to Kiaochow via different steamers, both tied by San Francisco meter stamps. Showing annotation of "Hong Kong Maru" and "Str Coptic" with finger pointer respectively. Transit
Shanghai LPO or Shanghai German PO. Hong Kong Maru was the vessel of Toyo Kisen Kabushiki Kaisha while Coptic belonged to Pacific Mail SS Co. Toyo Kisen Kabushiki Kaisha saw the first five years run smoothly until in 1902 Pacific Mail Steam Ship Co
dominated Pacific Trade.
1899年一對美國進口郵資封，經不同公司郵船寄青島，均銷三藩市機戳。分別寫有“Hong Kong Maru”及“Str Coptic”批示。經上海工部郵局或德國客郵局中轉。Hong Kong Maru為Toyo Kisen Kabushiki Kaisha船隻，Coptic則屬於Pacific Mail SS Co。前者在營業五年後不敵Pacific Mail SS Co在太平洋之壟斷業務。(Image 1)

 A cartoon of over 390 Peking view picture postcards during Qing and ROC period, showing numerous landmarks including the Forbidden City, Summer Palace, the Temple of Heaven, Railway Station, City Wall, Zhengyangmen etc.
Including at least 6 sets of postcard with original package. In 2024, the Peking Central Axis was inscribed as UNESCO World Heritage. Mostly of the important buildings along the central axis can be found in this massive lot of Peking picture
postcards. Very comprehensive and interesting for picture postcard collectors.
