 1888 Large official cover from Lhasa Amban to British Indian Commander, applied with official seal. The content was to negotiate for peace after the 1888 Sikkiam Campaign. As a result, China recognized British supremaacy over
Sikkiam after the war. It is the only recorded Yizhan mail related to this campaign. Scarce.

(6 Mar). Arrived Yatung (7 Mar). Yatung Customs was founded in 1894 as a result of Anglo-Chinese Convention on Tibet and India. Communications with Chinese inland was usually through post via India.
