1524 cover image19 August 1859, entire from Chile to Hong Kong "via Southampton paid" bearing Chile 1856-62 Chilean Colón 10-cents sky-blue 2x, cancelled by barred circle obliterator with London transit "PAID 19 OC 1858", and a "6" pink crayon manuscript rate on the front side; the reverse bearing a "Frederick Huth & Co., London" forwarding agent mark, together with a 1988 Royal Philatelic Society certificate. The entire is accompanied by a 1988 Royal Philatelic Society London certificate confirming authenticity. Mail from South America to Hong Kong in the 1850s is particularly scarce, and this example is especially desirable for: The forwarding agent marking, seldom seen on South American mails. Early usage of Chilean Colón adhesives on intercontinental mail. A well-preserved and scarce example of early pre-UPU transcontinental mail, illustrating forwarding practices and global postal connectivity of the period.

1529 cover image1862 and 1864 a pair of concessionary covers from the British Navy member in China to England via Marseilles, f.w. QV stamps in value of 6d and 10d respectively. As the rate for military personnel was 6d (via Southampton) or 10d (via Marseilles), the 6d cover was preculiar.

1530 cover image1850 USA (20 May) to Batavia via Hong Kong and London. Entire letter, rated "1/4", "2/4", applied with Hong Kong (22 Jul) transit cds and "SHIPLETTER VICTORIA HONGKONG" cachet. Then carried privately to London (27 Sep) but the postage from Britain to Batavia was yet to be collected and applied with "Detained for Postage" cachet. After the postage was settled, it was sent to Batavia (25 Feb 1851).

1531 cover image1853 Smith King & Co, Shanghai (4 Aug) to Currie Dale & Co. in London. Entire letter, sent “via Marseilles” and rated “2/2” in black ink; alongside with scarce “SHIPLETTER / VICTORIA HONG KONG” cachet. Transit Hong Kong (13 Aug). Arrived London (15 Oct). This letter is mostly reporting the updates on business which was severly affected as the writer “hear from the North that the rebellion is propering very favourably...” The writer was probabsly refering to the Nian Rebellion or the Taiping Heavenly Kingdom.

1853.8.4 上海Smith King & Co.寄倫敦Currie Dale & Co.，郵簡，正面寫有“via Marseiles”字樣及黑色“2/2”郵資字樣，旁蓋少見之“SHIPLETTER / VICTORIA HONG KONG”船信戳記。8.13經香港，10.15抵倫敦。此信內容是交代備受戰事打擊的生意狀況。作者寫道﹕“根據來自北方的消息，叛亂愈演愈烈，形勢日益佔優…”作者此處所指的叛亂應是指捻亂或太平天國。(Image 1) (Image 2) (Image 3) (Image 4)

US Presidential issue 24c in strip of 3 + 12c, tied by obliterator, alongside with Ridgefield cds. Transit New York (4 Jun), London. Showing extremely scarce Webb No. 1 double-ringed Hong Kong and Singapore Line Marine Sorter A h.s. It is the rarest type of Hong Kong and Singapore marine sorter with only 4 examples recorded by Webb. This cover predates the earliest record of Webb.

1577 cover imageEngland to Hong Kong with 1-penny late fee paid 26 February 1875, an entire letter sent from England to Hong Kong, addressed to Messrs. Augustine Heard & Co. Hong Kong, franked with 4 UK stamps: QV 1x one-shilling in green, 1x two-pence in dark blue, 2x one-penny in brown, all cancelled by barred numeral "5", UK despatch c.d.s. "LONDON / 26 FE/75". On the flip side, cancelled by HK c.d.s. "HONG-KONG / AP 8/75". A very fine letter with clear cancellations with 1-penny brown late fee paid usage.

英國寄香港商業信函 1875年2月26日一封自英國寄往香港的全張商業信函,收件人為香港赫德洋行 (Augustine Heard & Co.)。信上貼有四枚維多利亞女王郵票,包括綠色一先令一枚、深藍色二便士一枚、棕色一便士兩枚,全部均蓋銷英國數字「5」橫條格抹銷戳, 旁有清晰之倫敦寄出日戳“LONDON / 26 FE/75"。信背蓋有**“HONG-KONG / AP 8 /75"**香港到達日戳。 整體品相甚佳,郵票與戳記均保存清晰。(Image 1) (Image 2)
