 1876 Swatow (27 Jul) to USA, f.w. Hong Kong QV 2c, tied scarce S2 obliterator in violet, matching with Swatow BPO Webb type B cds in violet on reverse. Showing "Via San Francisco" annotation. Transit Hong Kong (27 Jul) with
PAID ALL cds in red. Transit San Francisco (29 Aug). S2 obliterator on covers are scarce as Webb only recorded 6 covers and postcards. The earliest recorded of S2 and Swatow type B cds was 29 Aug 1875 according to Dr. Andrew Cheung.
1876.7.27 汕頭寄美國，貼香港維多利亞女皇像2仙，銷少見之S2紫色殺手戳，背面蓋有汕頭英局Webb B型紫色日戳。寫有“Via San Francisco”批示。7.27經香港，鈐PAID ALL紅色中轉戳。8.29經三藩市。S2殺手戳之封片十分少見難得，Webb記錄僅有六件。而按張文德醫生記錄，最早同時蓋有S2及汕頭B型日戳之記錄為1875年8月29日。(Image 1)

Arrived San Francisco (31 Aug). S2 obliterator on covers are scarce as Webb only recorded 6 covers and postcards.

 1885 Swatow (30 Jun) to Hong Kong, applied with Swatow BPO Webb type B cds in black. F.w. Hong Kong QV 5c, tied by B62 obliterator upon arrival, matching with Hong Kong (1 Jul) arrival cds. According to Webb, S2 was withdrawn
in the latter half of 1885 when the general withdrawal of treaty port obliterator took place. Very peculiar example of leaving the stamp uncancelled when departing from Swatow. Ex- Percival David.
1885.6.30 汕頭寄香港，鈐汕頭英局Webb
B型黑色日戳。貼香港維多利亞女皇像5仙，銷B62殺手戳，另鈐香港7.1到達戳。Webb指S2殺手戳在1885年下半年連其他商埠之殺手戳一同被停用。此封於離開汕頭時未有銷票，十分奇特難得。大維德爵士舊藏。(Image 1)

with only 2 examples on covers known. This type was probably used by the main Swatow postal agency.

 A collection of Swatow BPO Webb type E star cds dated 1900, containing two Hong Kong QV used stamps and one stationery card to Hong Kong, all showcasing short year digit “00”. Webb stated that there was a shortage of the figure
00, therefore the year digits on the cds was actually modified from the figure 88 by removing the tops off. That’s why the year digits 00 are particularly short on this cds.
一組1900年汕頭英局Webb E型星號日戳集藏，包含兩枚香港維多利亞女皇像舊票及一件寄香港郵資片，日

before month” variety. This type of cds has two varieties, “month before day” or “day before month”.
