 Hong Kong QV surhc 16c/18c used stamp, tied by scarce D29 obliterator in blue and S1 obliterator in black. Examples of D29, especially in blue, on covers and postcards are very scarce which makes loose stamps a more accessible
way for acquiring this cancellation. Webb stated that the use of blue ink ceased in about 1877.

 1897 Hankow (6 Sep) to England. Hogn Kong postcard f.w. QV surch 3c/16c (Yang P1a; white card, red printing), tied by scarce D29 obliterator, alongside with Hankow BPO Webb type B cds. Transit Shanghai BPO with additional S1
obliterator on adhesive, matching with Shanghai BPO (11 Sep) transit cds. Transit Hong Kong (16 Sep) with TOO LATE cds. Arrived Sheffield (1 Sep). Examples of D29 on covers and postcards are very scarce. One of the 4 such postcards applied with D29
and S1 obliterator combination. In Mar 2024, AVA offered a similar card with D29 and S1 obliterator and was hammered at HKD$52,000 (Lot 2309).

London (24 Oct). Edges partly damaged but not affecting postmark or stamp. Webb stated that Shanghai did not re-stamp all Hankow mails after 1880. One of the 5 recorded covers with D29 used alone as cancellator. Ex- Houston, Cranford and Canman.
1881.9.5 漢口寄英國，貼香港維多利亞女皇像10仙，銷少見之D29黑色殺日戳，旁鈐漢口英局Webb B型日戳。9.8經上海英局，貼票未有再銷S1殺手戳。9.13經香港。10.24抵倫敦。邊緣有損但不影響郵票郵戳。Webb指在1880年後，上海英局未有為所有漢口郵件再次銷票。為記錄中五件僅以D29銷票的信封之一。Houston、Cranford及 Canman舊藏。(Image 1)

 A collection of Hankow BPO Webb type C cds, including four Hong Kong QV single or multiples tied by type Ci (index A) or Ciii (index C) cds as well as a 1892 (14 Mar) cover to England, applied with type Cii (index star) cds.
Webb stated that type Ci and Ciii are less common than type Cii.
