The only example of Anping BPO cds on Hong Kong adhesive as well as one of the two covers bearing Anping BPO cds recorded by Webb (another cover dated 29 Jul 1889 from Anping to England. 2295 cover image1844 Shanghai (21 Jan) to England. Entire letter, sent "overland via Marseilles" and rated "1/10", applied with "FORWARDED BY / CHINA / HOLLIDAY WISER" and "INDIA" oval seal. Transit Bombay. Arrived London (5 May). It is the earliest recorded letter from Shanghai. Historical. Existing correspondence from this early period are scarce as the foreign population was only 90 according to Webb.

2296 cover image1856 Shanghai (6 Oct) to France. Entire letter, rated “1/” and “10”, sent “via Marseilles overland”, applied with extremely scarce Webb type 1 “SHANGHAE POST OFFICE PAID” crowned circular seal. Transit Hong Kong (12 Oct). Transit French paquebot (30 Nov). Webb recorded 3 examples on cover while Dr. Andrew Cheung recorded fifteen and it is one of the three addressing to France. It is also the 4th one offered by AVA. (The latest census records 18 examples, please see the list below). 17 covers were reported in HKPS 2014 census. Transit Hong Kong (19 Jul). Arrived Shanghai BPO with scarce Webb type 5 locally made "SHANGHAE" cds without date and type A cds. It is the only recorded example of "undated" type 5 cds and the latest record of its type. Bottom right corner damaged but not affecting postmark.

2304 cover image1864 Ningpo (10 Feb) to Foochow via Shanghai and Hong Kong. Entire letter, rated "7 4 / 11" (7d French packet rate + 4d inter-treaty port rate = 11d), applied with Shanghae BPO Webb type 6 PAID cds and type A cds on the flap. The mail was carried by French packet Hydaspe from Shanghai to Hong Kong (24 Feb) and probably forwarded by P&O Formosa from Hong Kong to Foochow. It is the only recorded inter-treaty port example from Ningpo by French Packet at Shanghai to Hong Kong branch line.

1864.2.10 寧波經上海及香港寄福州。郵簡，寫有郵資“7 4 / 11”（7便士法國郵船郵資 + 4便士商埠間郵資，合11便士），鈐上海英局Webb 6型已付日戳及A型日戳。此信先於上海經法國郵船Hydaspe送至香港，再由鐵行輪船公司送至福州。此為自寧波經法國郵船送至香港分支航線之唯一商埠間郵例。(Image 1) (Image 2) (Image 3) (Image 4)
