 1941 Hong Kong (9 Dec) to Australia, detained in Hong Kong, f.w. Centenary of British Occupation $1 + Hong Kong KGVI 25c in pair, tied by Kowloon Hong Kong cds. Censored and resealed. Showing “Per CNAC Via Rangoon” annotation
and “DETAINED IN HONGKONGBY JAPANESE FROM DECEMBER 1941 TO SEPTEMBER 1945” cachet. The aircrafts of CNAC were attacked by the Japanese during the Battle of Hong Kong. Late usage of this detained mail cachet.

 1943 Shanghai (13 May) to Camp N (Argle Street Officiers Camp), Hong Kong, f.w. SYS 16c in pair + airmail stamp surch Japanese currency 20s, tied by Shanghai bilingual cds. Transit Canton (15 May). Applied with "Hong Kong POW
Internment Camp Censored" type JH2 mark and faint name seal of the censor. This camp was located between Sham Shui Po Camp and Kai Tak Airport. Rough edges but does not affect main body. Illustration in Dr. William Tong Cheuk Man's book.

 1943 Yau Ma Tei (18 Mar) to Canton. Red band cover, f.w. Japanese issue 5s for local letter rate, tied by faint but recognizable Yau Ma Tei Japanese style cds. Arrived Canton (17 Mar). Although the branch PO reopened on 14 Feb,
no cancellation was available. Therefore it is a very early example of Yau Ma Tei cds, dated earlier than the record by H da Luz (9 Jun 1943). Despite the rather omnipresent examples from H da Luz covers, commerically usage from branch post office
are extremely scarce. Yai Ma Tei, for example, with less than 10 examples known.
1943.3.18 油麻地寄廣州。紅條封，貼日本票5錢，合本地信函郵資，銷模糊但可辨之油麻地日式日戳。3.17抵廣州。雖然油麻地等分局已於2月14日重開，但並無郵戳可供使用，故此為極早之油麻地日戳實寄例子，比H da Luz所記錄之6月9日更早。出自日佔時期各分局之H da

 ONE OF THE TWO RECORDED COMMERICAL COVERS FROM WAN CHAI POST OFFICE 1945 Hong Kong (27 Apr) to Canton. returned to sender, f.w. Japanese issue surch Hong Kong Government 3 Yen + 5 Yen, in total of 8 Yen local registered rate,
tied by Wan Chai Japanese style cds., alongside with Hong Kong Wan Chai registered label. Arrived Canton (1 May) and returned to sender with “NON RECLAME” and “RETOUR” cachet. It is one of the two recorded commerical covers from Wan Chai Post Office
during Japanese occupation. Commerical usage of Japanese surch stamps is also scarce given the short issuance, not to mention registered mails during Japanese occupation are rare. Exceptional. Ex- Philippe Orsetti. 2017 (Dec) Interasia, lot 4580.
日佔期間灣仔郵局寄出之兩件實寄封之一 1945.4.27 香港寄廣州，退回寄件人，貼日本票加蓋“香港總督部”3圓 + 5圓，合8圓本地掛號郵資，銷灣仔日式戳，旁貼香港灣仔掛號標籤。5.1抵廣州，退回寄件人，鈐“無人領取”及“退還”指示戳。 此為記錄中日佔期間灣仔郵局寄出之兩件實寄封之一，因而極為稀罕難得。加蓋“香港總督部”發行時間短暫，實寄掛號亦甚少見。Philippe Orsetti舊藏。2017.12 Interasia，拍品號4580。(Image 1)
