 1875 Hong Kong (29 Jan) to England via Russian embassy post in Peking. The cover was first conveyed by Russian courier to Peking for transmission thorugh Embassy Post. Then further transit through Kiachta, Siberia and St.
Petersburg and finally arrived Vienna where it was franked with Austrian 3k + 10k for normal post. Despite the lack of relevant postmark or annotation, its route was confirmed by another letter from the same correspondenace which stated that “Do not
be surprised to see on this letter Viennese postage stamps. I am sending in the winter all my packets by the Russian Courier free to St. Petersburg and form theere they are sent on to Vienna”. Illustrated in “The London Philatelist” 1151-52 (1988) p.

2012 (Apr) David Feldman lot 20002. 1875.1.29 香港經俄國駐北京大使館寄英國。此信先經俄國信差寄至俄國駐北京大使館，再經蒙古恰克圖、西伯利亞、聖彼得堡至維也納，並貼奧國票3k + 10k，進入正常郵政系統。 雖然未見中轉戳，但此郵路可由同一系列書信的另一件信件證明。當中寫道“請不要看見奧國郵票而吃驚。此信於冬天經俄國信差免資送至聖彼得堡，再送至維也納”。 1988年《The London

 1871 North German Consulate at Tientsin to Prussia via Russian Merchant’s Post. The cover was first carried to Peking where it was futher carried to Kiachta by Merchant Post. 30k was paid by cash according to manuscript. F.w.
Coat of Arms 1k + 3k + 10k for pre-UPU rate from Russia to Prussia, tied by pen stroke. Transit Kiachta (10 Apr), Moscow. Arrived Eydtkunen. Unique and the earliest cover f.w. Russian stamp in China. Illustrartion in “British Journal of Russian

 1875 Tientsin to England, f.w. Coat of Arms 3k in pair + 10k in strip of 4, in total of 46k (pre-UPU rate 30k for Kiachta + 16k for Russia to England), tied by extremely scarce Tientsin Russian PO T&S type 2 h.s. Transit
Kiachta Russian PO (1 Mar) with Hellrigl type 5 cds. Transit Moscow (11 Jun). Arrived Dereham (28 Jun). This cover was first carried by courier or camel caravan for transit at Kiachta. It is the earliest known cover from the official Russian Post in
China, using Russian cancellation on Russian stamps and the only known use of Tientsin’s first Russian handstamp canceller on over. David Feldman catalogue described it as “The Jewel in the Crown”. Illustration in “The British Journal of Russian

Tientsin type 1 d.s. Despite T&S classified it as type 1 cancel, the earliest cover form Tientsin Post applied with type 2 h.s.
