2941 cover image1901 Registered Cover from Yangtsun to England. 1898 10pf Carmine (Scott 3; Michel 3II), vertical strip of three and vertical pair, used in combination with 1901 50pf Purple & Black on Salmon (Scott 31; Michel 22), horizontal pair with bottom selvage and a single, all tied by clear strikes of "TIENTSIN / DEUTSCHE POST / 7/10 01" circular date stamps on registered bright buff cover to Horton, England. Reverse with sender’s return address: “von Warnsdorff, Oberleutnant im 3. Ostasiatischen Infanterie-Regiment, Yang-tsun,” showing military origin. The Feldpost No. 3 registry label was crossed out and replaced with a manuscript “Yang-tsun.” London transit (20 Nov) and Bradford arrival backstamps. Some minor edge wear and a slightly reduced bottom edge. Yangtsun (洋村) located in Wuqing District (武清區), Tianjin Municipality, China. It lies northeast of central Tianjin and was a notable location during the Boxer Rebellion. The Battle of Yangtsun on August 6, 1900, was one of the key engagements involving the Eight-Nation Alliance, including German troops. The name “Yang-tsun” in the military return address corresponds to this strategic site. A scarce and attractive registered cover from the German military post in Yangtsun during the Boxer Rebellion period, combining multiple high-value German Offices in China issues.

1901年中國東北洋村寄英國 掛號封。 1898年10芬尼胭脂紅（Scott 3；Michel 3II）直排三連與雙連，與1901年50芬尼紫黑三文魚色（Scott 31；Michel 22）底邊橫雙連及單枚混貼，均蓋天津「TIENTSIN / DEUTSCHE POST / 7/10 01」清晰圓形日戳，貼於一枚掛號明黃色信封，寄往英國霍頓（Horton）。信封背面有寄件人軍階地址：“von Warnsdorff 上尉，第3東亞步兵團，洋村（Yang-tsun）”，軍郵第3號掛號標籤被劃除，改以手寫“Yang-tsun”字樣標示。背蓋倫敦中轉（11月20日）與布拉福德到達戳。信封邊緣略有磨損，下緣稍經修剪。 洋村位於中國天津市武清區，地處天津市區以東北方向。此地在義和團事變期間具有重要軍事戰略地位。1900年8月6日，「洋村之戰」是八國聯軍與清軍及義和團發生激烈戰鬥的重要一役，其中德國部隊亦有參與。信封背面所載之寄件人地址「Yang-tsun」，即指此地，顯示本件郵品具有濃厚的軍事郵政與歷史背景價值。 一件珍罕且具吸引力的掛號郵件，寄自義和團戰亂期間駐紮洋村的德軍部隊，混貼多枚駐華德國郵票，極具郵政與軍事歷史意義。(Image 1) (Image 2)

Arrived Peking (1 Apr). Although foreign posts in China were closed due to Washington Agreement, Japan still dominated the South Manchuria Railway area. Exceptional combination example of Japanese and Chines adhesive.
