1911 W.G. O’Sullivan from Lhasa (9 May) to India. Double-registered cover, f.w. Tibet surch Coiling Dragon from 3p to 2r complete set, tied by Lhasa dollar cds, alongside with Lhasa registered mark and AR mark. Transit Yatung Chinese PO (18 May). In combination with Indian 3a + 1a, tied by Yatung BPO (14 Aug) cds. Arrived Darjeeling (16 Aug). Fold at left side. Despite pilatelic, the sender O’Sullivan was said to have supervised the evacuation of the Chinese troops driven out of Tibet in Nov 1911.

1911 Lhasa (13 Sep) to Directorate General Post, Peking. Registered cover, f.w. Tibet surch Coiling Dragon 2a + 2-1/2a + 3a, tied by Lhasa Dollar cds., alongside with registered mark. Transit Batang (4 Oct), Tatsienlu (3 Dec), Yachow (14 Dec). Arrived Peking (13 Feb). Only less than 10 covers taking Kham-Tsang Route are known to exist and all of them having the same address which were used to test the route. When the cover arrived at Peking, Qing government was already overthrown. Cover opened out for display.

1911.9.13 拉薩寄北京郵政總局。掛號封，貼西藏蟠龍4分 + 5分 + 6分，銷拉薩大圓戳，旁鈐掛號章。10.4經巴塘， 12.3經打箭爐，12.14經雅州。2.13抵北京。大清郵政康藏郵路封存世不足十件，均寄相同之收件人，顯然用於測試中轉時間。當此封到達北京時，清朝已被推翻。封剖開以作展示。(Image 1) (All Images)

1955 Indonesia (28 Jan) to Lhasa via India, f.w. Indonesian issue x5, tied by Ampenan cds. Attached with a skip stating “Please forward to the destination Lhasa, Tibet” by Calcutta Foreign Post. Since the Indian post in Tibet was handled over to PRC, it is a very late example of Indian post in China. No arrival was applied.

1955 (Apr) Lhasa to Kalimpong, f.w. Tibet 3rd issue 4tr for forwarding to Indian Post, tied by Lhasa h.s. As Indian Post dissolved and handled over to PRC this month, postage was not recognized and this cover was forwarded to Chinese Post with $400 + $50 franking, tied by Lhasa (10 Apr) cds. Arrived Kalimpiong (18 Apr). Exceptional joint delivery of local post and people’s post. Illustration from “Tibet Stamps and Postal History” by Steven Chazen and Danny Wong fig 30, p. 313.

Transit Lhasa (3 Dec) but returned to sender with “No Such Institution and returned / Lhasa Post Office” cachet. Mails to location without post office in Tibet will be returned. 1914 Chabdo (9 Apr) to Postmaster of Chengtu Post Office, f.w. Coiling Dragon Tibet surch 3p + 1/2a + 2a, tied by scarce Chabdo Dollar cds (dated Year Three; reading from left to right). Chabdo was the last imperial post office ceased operation in Tibet. Tibet surch Coiing Dragon issues and dollar cds were used continually which made Chabdo one of the lastest post office using imperial stamps and cancellation.

1914.4.9察木多寄成都郵政局郵務長，貼西藏蟠龍半分 + 1分 + 4分，銷少見之察木多大圓戳，年份為“三年”，日期左讀。察木多是西藏郵界最後結束的郵局，並沿用西藏蟠龍及清朝日戳，是全國最後使用大清郵票及郵戳之郵局之一。(Image 1) (Image 2)
