 1912 (Nov) Official cover from the Tibet Expeditionary Force to Songpan, applied with “Chengt Official Mail” type 4 cachet in red. Cover damaged at bottom corner but not affect the main body. In 1912, ROC sent troops to stop
the attempted independence of Tibet. During the expedition, Yizhan system was adopted. 9 such covers were recorded in “Tibet Stamps and Postal History” by Danny Wong and Steve Chazen. A few more examples were seen in auctions. Forerunner of Chinese
military mails.
1912.11 征藏軍事封寄松潘廳知事，鈐“成都公文郵便”4型橢圓形戳記。封底兩角有損但不影響郵戳。 1912年，民國派軍阻止西藏獨立。征藏軍以驛遞方式傳遞軍政公文，王劍智及蔡盛著《青康藏郵驛史》 記錄存世信封有九件，在多年拍賣場上另見一兩例但仍稀罕萬分。可謂中國軍郵之鼻祖。(Image 1)

 1936 Kangting (28 Mar) to USA. AIrmail cover, f.w. SYS ovpt. Limited For Use in Szechuan 5c in strip of 5 + 25c, in total of 50c international letter + domestic airmail rate, tied by Kangting bilingual cds. Transit Chengtu (4
Apr), Shanghai (6 Apr). On front with “AIRMAIL SERVICE IN CHINA ONLY” cachet. Scarce example of Batang, dated just after the confrontation between KMT and CPC during Long March. The usage of Kangting instead of Tatsienlu cds is also rather early.
1936.3.28 康定寄美國。航空封，貼孫像加蓋限四川貼用5分直五連 + 2角5分，合5角國際信函 + 國內航空郵資，銷 康定三格點線日戳。4.4經成都，4.6經上海。正鈐“AIRMAIL SERVICE IN CHINA ONLY”橫戳。出自巴塘之稀罕郵例， 日期更與長征期間國共追逐對峙時十分接近。另外亦是使用“康定”而非“打箭鑪”郵戳之甚早例子。(Image 1)

 1899 letter applied with the Great seal of Tibet, The Golden King (Dawson no. 1), alongside with Dalai Lama small red seal (Dawson no. 7). This seal dates from 1578 when Altan Khan was converted to Buddhism and was inherited to
the successive Dalai Lama. Of paramount historical sigificance.
1899年一件鈐有達賴喇嘛金印（Dawson No.1）及小紅圓戳（Dawson No. 7）之信件。該金印相 傳出自1578年俺答汗皈依藏傳佛教之時，並由歷代達賴喇嘛相傳。極具歷史意義之珍品。(Image 1)

 1949 and 1955 a pair of incoming covers to Lhasa and Gyantse, both with combination franking of Indian and TIbet local post issues. As Indian post in Tibe was handed over to the PRC in 1955, the 1955 cover was especially
scarce. A very nice pair of combination covers before the closure of Indian post in Tibet.

 1904 (5 May) a letter from Dr. G Lindsay Johnson and a wax seal on piece. In the letter, Dr. Johnson claimed that the wax seal is a Tibetan postage stamp used by the official post office. Still, opinions vary on Dr. Johnson’s
claim.

 1912 Shigatse to Lhasa, f.w. Tibet 1st issue perforated 1/6tr on reverse, tied by Shigatse type 1 h.s. Transit Gyantse, Penam, Pelti with respectively h.s. Some specialists suggested that the perforated stamps were used by the
Tsarong family only but this example is not. Postmarks of Penam and Pelti are also scarce.
